All equal and all different. Photography, cinema and three round tables will help us reflect on the differences between identical twins. Confused? The answers are there from 14th to 18th June, at the Patio of the Central Pole of the Museum of Natural History and Science of the University of Porto (MHNC-UP), chosen to host Twins Week: One Event, Two Experiences.
On 18th June, at 21h30, in the Patio of the MHNC-UP, La Double Vie de Veronique by Krzysztof Kieslowsk will be presented.
Weronika lives in Poland and Veronique lives in Paris. They don't know each other and yet they are identical: both are left-handed, like to go barefoot, have the same sparkle in their eyes, a sublime voice, an absolute musical sense and, above all, share the same hardly detectable heart condition. They are unaware that one will benefit from the experiences and wisdom of the other. As if every time the first one hurt herself with an object, the second one avoided touching it. It is a love story, simple and touching, of a life that continues, leaving one being to perpetuate itself in the body and soul of another. Are they twins? Nothing like coming here, and drawing your own conclusions.
The film, which lasts 98 minutes, will be commented by Dario Oliveira, director of Porto/Post/Doc, international film festival.
All the events of this Twins Week have free entry, although subject to prior booking on the Eventbrite portal. To book tickets, look for the event here.
