CAN, the mythical German krautrock band, is one of the most influential groups of the 20th century. From rock to electronica, but always with one foot in the most exploratory practices, CAN and Me focuses on the band's keyboardist and founder, Irmin Schmidt, whose career is a treatise on eclecticism. He was a conductor, studied with Stockhausen, composed soundtracks (notably for Wim Wenders) and made an opera, Gormenghast. A musical biography of an artist who, retrospectively, asks himself: what does sound mean? and what does silence mean?
