The succession of the films of this session allows to perceive the thought of Petit on the place of the television and the images in the contemporary world. Surveillance, for example, looks at the power of surveillance cameras and their special aesthetics. The filmmaker was beginning to reflect on the central subject of contemporary control systems. In Dead TV, Petit plays with the moving images that the television ceaselessly produces, showing us how the empire of these images has already subverted our common visual culture. Asylum tries to debate the same subject, assuming itself as a futuristic film in which all the human memory is lost. (Daniel Ribas)
