In the nine years separating Pedro (2016) from A Nossa Necessidade de Consolo (2007), the pair André Santos and Marco Leão created a map of paroxysms, contradictions, splendours. At the centre of his films are people we invent for the past, sad people bound by broken, but nevertheless crumbling affections. Mothers and children, lovers, people and animals, all of them inhabit the huge and sturdy building of the bonds. This is an integral retrospective of the duo.
