Porto/Post/Doc: Film & Media Festival was considered one of the 25 coolest festivals in the world by MovieMaker Magazine. The selection panel gathered five film industry professionals: Garrett Bradley, Sky Hopinka, Eran Polishuk, Ryan Werner and Ela Bittencourt.

About the festival, the magazine highlights "a great atmosphere, thoughtful friendly team, and a romantic setting", in Bittencourt's words. The programmer also highlights the festival's projects scheduled to begin in 2020: Academy, a campus for young producers and directors dedicated exclusively to European cinema, promoted in partnership with Canal180; and Come Closer, a triennial project that brings together seven international festivals in a joint attempt to bring underpriviliged communities closer to the cinematic art.

The magazine's list includes other film festivals such as Ficvaldivia, Il Cinema Ritrovato, Courtisane or Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival.
